Titles/Accomplishments/Background: Adrian “The Hunter” Pang is a very skilled well-rounded fighter who has tested himself at the highest level in many fighting disciplines.

Adrian grew up amongst the tribal natives in Papua New Guinea quickly learning the value of self-defense in this primitive, dangerous land for a young boy of mixed Asian/European descent. Because of his willingness to fearlessly defend himself and his family against any odds, he was given as a young boy the nickname ‘man bilong pait’, which means Warrior or Man That Likes to Fight in Pupua New Guinea’s native tongue. He carries a permanent reminder of the savageness of the conflicts he was involved in as a boy with the scarring from a spear wound running the length of his forearm.

Starting his Martial Arts Training in Kung Fu Adrian has developed into a very technical but explosive fighter with a face that shows no pain or weakness. He has had brutal wins in MMA, Muay-thai and boxing. With Adrian’s powerful striking and excellent grappling skills he defeated all comers in Australias 65kg division and defeated top Japanese MMA fighters Takumi Murata and Taiyo Nakahara. The Hunter recently moved into the 70kg division quickly capturing the CFC World Lightweight Title. Adrian is very humble and is an exciting fighter that can quickly adapt to any situation he encounters whilst doing battle in the MMA arena. No weakness is his greatest strength. A crowd favorite with the looks to match his ability, he is a draw card on any fight show. Expect big thing Internationally for The Hunter in the future.

Fairtex Fighter Amanda Lucas in FCF Event on Nov. 7th

6 Nov

by FTX (2009-11-06)

Article By MarQ Piocos at FighterGirls.com:

Everyone has to lose sometime, and sometimes you gain more by losing early on.

Amanda Lucas’s first fight in MMA versus Nicole Kavanaugh in New Zealand didn’t go as well as she hoped, as she lost via TKO last year. However, Lucas is ready to get back on the winning track with a fight versus Christen Bedwell on the Freestyle Cage Fight in Tulsa.

This past week on “Sportsgeeks,” Lucas took the time to talk about her first loss and what she has learned.

“I ended up losing my fight and honestly, it was a good experience and I took a lot from it. I learned a lot and I have trained a lot. I took away from that ‘I now know probably the worst that could happen in the cage.'”

The training has also helped her learn more about her weaknesses and strengths as a fighter.

“I am definitely stronger on the ground. It’s where I enjoy it more. But actually right before I went to New Zealand, I discovered I really love to box and so I have been working on my hands a lot, and my footwork.”

Anyone could get discouraged with a loss in their first match, but Lucas feels that the road to the match is what drives her.

“I think for me, being able to fight and doing something like that makes me feel good just in terms of know I can put myself through the training. I had a lot of fun training and preparing.”

Lucas has trained hard to correct the mistakes in the past fight, and is now ready to face Bedwell as a lean, mean, fighting machine.

“I am stronger then I was when I went to New Zealand. I’m in better shape. Not to say I wasn’t in shape, but I am even stronger and my technique has gotten better. I am curious to see (if it helps me to win).”

Amanda Lucas trains under Ganyao “Dr. Knee” Fairtex at Fairtex Muaythai Fitness in San Francisco, CA.

Amanda Lucas will be fighting Christen Bedwell at the upcoming Freestyle Cage Fighting event this coming November 7, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

More information about the Freestyle Cage Fighting event can be found on the Osage Casino site. Tickets start at $30. They can be purchased at the Osage Event Center box office at L.L. Tisdale Parkway and 36 Street North in Tulsa, OK 74127, or by calling the box office at (918) 699-7667.
